Dear Voters,
My name is Bob Montigel and I am running for Congress, District 6. I am a fiscal conservative and a Democrat. If you are happy with Congress don’t read this.
To my Republican friends
Incumbent Republican Tom Price is not a fiscal conservative, and his policies are divisive. He has at least $1.5 million in his special interest warchest. If you seek to verify his public statements, as the Atlanta Journal Constitution recently did, you will find they are often false or misleading.
You may say, I don’t like the President so I can’t vote for someone who will be supporting him. I agree the president has not delivered on all his promises and he has not brought the country together. I do not agree 100% with the President, but he deserves some credit, quite a bit actually. To understand this you need to understand macroeconomics and the role the banking system should be playing in a capitalistic society. I understand these things. I do not believe Dr. Tom Price does.
So I ask you to consider whether it is time to change Congress. In this District, that means electing a Democrat. When I speak to my neighbors, the deficit and the influence of special interests are among their top concerns. To help deal with the deficit I would support the Simpson-Bowles plan. With respect to special interests, I have not taken and will not take money nor seek support from special interests, even ones that I agree with.
Please vote for me in the Democratic Primary.
To my Democratic friends
You will have a choice in the July 31 primary to vote for me or another candidate who will have more appeal to the Democratic base. I believe that in this District, the Democratic candidate must appeal not only to the base and independent voters, but also moderate and even not so moderate Republicans, in order to win. Please read what I have written to my Republican friends.
To my independent friends
I hope you will evaluate all three candidates and decide which one you want in office and which one you do not want. I hope that you will then vote for me in the Democratic Primary.
For anyone who will not be here primary day,July 31, you can vote early or by absentee ballot. Click Here for additional information on voting via absentee ballot and voter registration.
Thank you for your consideration.
